SciFest 2026 is a celebration of science through a series of free online events open to all for National Science Week. The live virtual events are delivered in a webinar format to retain interactivity and enable two-way participation. Content is sourced from the network of Virtual Excursions Australia members, our leading science, environmental and research institutions. The virtual events target a range of audiences through a series of engaging formats including, Science Storytime, Lunchtime Trivia, Live Science shows and a Careers in STEM panel.

This festival of online learning provides an opportunity for you and your students to connect with exciting science, experts and experiments without leaving your classroom. SciFest topics, dates and times will vary throughout the festival to provide variety and flexibility for your students.

At 11am each day we will present Science Storytime. Authors will join us to read their books and answer questions. This 30 minute live virtual excursion is suitable for libraries, schools, home school groups and individual families.

At 1pm each day the SciFest Lunchtime Trivia returns. Each day will have a different theme, so you can join in one day or all week. During the 30 minute sessions you can test your knowledge between classes, colleagues or family member, everyone is welcome.
At 2pm each day will will have a science show and on Wednesday the Careers in STEM panel is back.
There is something to suit everyone this National Science Week no matter where you are in Australia.
