Coastcare Week is on between the 1 – 7 December 2025. It’s a time to reflect on the relationship between land, water and sea.

As we head into Coastcare Week 2025, the opportunity to engage younger learners through a thoughtful virtual excursion is timely and powerful. By focusing on coastal ecosystems and connecting land, water, sea and human actions, you can help students feel part of the story and part of the solution.

Australian Environmental Education takes you on a journey to explore marine habitats and test your marine science knowledge with interactive Kahoot! Quiz. Test your ocean science knowledge and how to protect our marine environments.

This session looks at the waste that washes downstream in our catchments, the impacts it has on our estuaries, wetlands and coastal areas where the rivers meets the sea. Find out what you can do to protect our coasts and marvellous marine life.

Science of the Sea LIVE with the Ocean Health Lab
Meet amazing marine scientists from Seabin Foundation’s Ocean Health Lab and help them to complete a real science experiment from beginning to end. Students will examine the waste collected by a Seabin, scientifically categorise the samples and create a data display of their results. Along the way, students will learn about the pollution problems facing our ocean, what this means for the environment, and how they can help to make the world a safer, cleaner place.



This 60 minute live and interactive science virtual excursion is for students in Years 3 – 6.

Take a Journey Beneath the Waves during Coastcare week and explore our marine environments. Karen will talk about her 30 years experience SCUBA diving and take you on a journey beneath the waves to explore this wonderful world and the changes she has seen overtime.

Coastcare Week gives us a fantastic opportunity to promote some of the issues impacting our the marine environments.

Be Water Smart!
Get ready for the summer holidays and learn how to stay safe around water. Learn important life skills for water safety all around Australia to stay safe in pools, at beaches, rivers, lakes and dams or when going boating and more. This fun and interactive session will provide expert advice to help students identify safety hazards, respond to imaginary scenarios and understand how to keep themselves safe around water.
