Description: The Manly Environment Centre (MEC) has been operating since 1991. Set up as an action and education based environment centre it houses reference material which is easily available to schools and the wider community. Promoting sustainable living practices through practical projects. Our aim is to act as an advocacy, research, education and resource centre – an environmental educator to enable and encourage broad community involvement and goodwill in protecting Manly’s unique environment.
Access to scientists and experts in all fields of the environment and sustainability, allows the Manly Environment Centre to offer lively and informative presentations to students in a range of ages. Sessions cover two of the three cross-curriculum priorities including Sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
The ‘Ocean Elements’ module includes high quality marine video, Marine Scientist, teacher notes and student booklet. Sessions are engaging, interactive, adaptive and responsive to the needs of the students.
Booking Instructions:
1. Read and agree to the Booking Conditions below.
2. To book sessions, complete online form below.
3. A confirmation will be emailed to you from: bookings@dartconnections.org.
4. Teacher’s notes and students booklets will be sent to you from the Manly Environment Centre after confirmation email.
5. Each session runs for 45 minutes.
6. Please ensure you have tested your equipment prior to the day to avoid disappointment.
7. Sessions are FREE
Cancellation Policy: Manly Environment Centre offers free digital excursions of a first come-first served basis.
1. Notification of Cancellations must be advised by email within seven (7) days prior to the session to: robynne.millward@manly.nsw.
